Arboviral infections (arthropod-borne) are caused by viruses transmitted by arthropods such as mosquitoes and ticks. These infections generally crop up during warm weather month, when mosquitoes and ticks are active. Anyone can get an Arboviral Infection but elderly appear to be the most susceptible these infections can cause severe disease such as Encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain. Young children may experience more severe illness with eastern equine Encephalitis and certain types of California Encephalitis. It spread by infected mosquitoes. Only few types of mosquitoes ace capable of spreading the disease aand only a small number of mosquitoes actually carry the viruses

 

 

Symptoms

The various type of virus infection transmitted by mosquitoes and tick usually similar but different in severity. Mild cases may occur with only a slight fever and/or headache. severe infection are marked by a rapid onset of headache, high fever,disorientation, coma, tremors, convulsions, paralysis or death. The symptoms happen between 5-15 days after exposure to infective mosquitoes or tricks.

 

How to prevent:

-          Use insect repellent Insecticandle, or Insectilotion on exposed skin and or clothing. Always follow the direction of package . Wear long sleeve and pants when weather permits

-          At home burn Insecticandle and have secure screens on windows and doors to keep mosquitoes out.
